What is Ergoat?

What does Ergoat mean?

Well, for starters, it's the name I invented in a moment of inspiration, and it fit me, so I kept it as an alias, and made it my Playa name.

In Session #7 of Cowboy Bebop, there is a female trucker named V.T. who has an ongoing bet/contest with the other truckers she meets as to what the initials in her name stand for.

This came up a lot a KiwiBurn, a regional Burning Man gathering in New Zealand I attended in Feb of 2007, and in the archaic tradition of having riddling contests at festivals, I set forth the challenge to see if any of the attendees could decode the meaning of Ergoat. You shall receive the same clues that they did.

Well there’s the goat part of the name, and while I don’t particularly adhere to astrology, I am a Capricorn… or goat-fish.

Secondly, Ergoat has a similarity to ergot, the fungus that grows on rye, wheat and barley, from which the synthesis of LSD was derived.

Legend has it. while extremely high on LSD in the deserts of Mexico, Jim Morrison came up with the anagram of his name by mixing up the letters and coming up with a phrase that's part of the song LA Woman. While tripping on acid, Jim Morrison became Mr Mojo Risin.
